After weaving the fabric is not able to absorb water or other auxiliaries to a sufficient degree due to the size. This means that uniform bleaching and dyeing can only be achieved after complete removal of the size from the fabric. To ensure that fabric is well prepared for dyeing and further processing, all size must be removed adequately and uniformly. Failure to remove the size completely can result in uneven dyeing, poor batch-to- batch shade reproducibility and problems during printing.
Enzymatic Desizing is the process of degrading starch size on the cotton fabrics . Desizing process can be divided into three stages like-Impregnation of fabric with the desizing liquor, Break-down of starch into water soluble dextrin and removal of the break-down products.
